"Is that embroidered? Oh, no, it's crochet!"
Many people have never seen crochet this small (they didn't learn from an 80-year-old lady obsessed by doilies!)
But these patches are easy to sew on yourself. They are durable 100% cotton and can be removed and re-sewn on to anything you like.

Cozy One-of-a-kind Corduroy!
Portland, OR
Ladies Size M
This jacket was a donation from a friend...so cozy and comfy!
But...no pockets! (That's a no-go for me.)
So I added a couple of back pockets from a pair of brown velvet pants with some new jazzy embroidery. But one had a small stain. Time for a beauty patch!
These patches are embroidery floss from my mother-in-law. And I custom-designed all of these patterns.
Fleece-lined, it's one of the coziest jackets I have every warm, perfect for over a sweater on a crisp fall day.
When I wear this, people stop me in the streets! Eye-catching, head-turning...and a walking work of art.
Teddy's ready for love - Benbrook, TX
I wasn't sure why my inner voices were telling me we had to go to the Benbrook Antique Mall southwest of Dallas, TX in March of 2024.
But when we got there, this little cutie flagged me down, a vintage teddy in need of repair!
Someone had made him a handmade sweater...but his paws needed some work. Now he's ready for a forever home (comes with his favorite sweater, too)!

Unique and Stylish Shawl
Brentford, England
“Do you want this?” The lady who ran the fiber arts group gestured at a shopping-bag-sized tangle of vintage wool.
It was the donated scrap pile of a highly skilled knitter, judging by the ornate color work samples inside. I couldn't let it go to waste…
So I spent a couple of hours untangling and re-rolling everything. And I ended up designing my very first shawl pattern… from scratch.
This project pushed me beyond what I thought I could accomplish, but I love how it turned out!
Is it ready to warm the shoulders of someone you know?
Black and White Makes a Statement! - Portland, OR
Vintage GAP Ladies Size Medium
This vintage double-knit 100% wool sweater is super cozy, now that a few small boo-boos have been taken care of. I was amazed to see such a beauty on the top of the pile at a thrift store outlet. With gorgeous pewter buttons and two-layer construction, it's warm and stylish.
This sweater features an assortment of mending techniques including patching, darning, and re-weaving (or in this case, re-knitting on the cuffs).
I pushed my skill set, and we're bringing this gorgeous garment back to life!
It's ready for a new owner.
Vera Bradley Totes Your Treasures!
Dallas, TX
I was stunned to see this vintage Vera Bradley on the top of the pile at the Goodwill in Dallas, Texas.
She was still in solid condition with just some wear on the handles and corners. Plus, I'm a sucker for colorful patterns on a black background… so she was definitely coming home with me!
Fortunately, I had just the right combination of colors in my stash to pretty her up.
It was a challenge to sew around the corners of the bag and to wrap the patches over the handle. But it worked out great. This is one of my favorite projects so far!
Are you looking for a new bag? This one is a head turner!

It was a challenge to sew through the same holes front and back across the handle...

Chiffon Beauty Rejuvenated - Grants Pass, OR
This 1950s Chiffon scarf was languishing in the $1 bin at the Methodist Thrift Store! But I couldn't resist the cheery watercolor pansies pattern, and I knew I could add a few flower patches to repair it.
I loved picking colors that complemented the original hand-painted pattern. And I crocheted them in England, Ireland, and California, USA.
Now this beautiful scarf is ready to wear again. Would you wear a cascade of flowers?
